OBC Hall of Mediocrity (HOM) |
The HOM is a place where great players of the past, who have little hope of entering the hall of fame, are honored for their careers which brought joy to many fans.
Mediocrity - The word mediocrity is not in any way to be taken as a slam against these guys. The word mediocre has its' origin in the Old Latin, and literally means "half way up the hill," which all of these guys certainly were. In our opinion, anyone who ever got to throw one pitch, or had only one at bat, or only got to pinch-run once, made it!
RULES of eligibility:
- No chance of ever making the "real" Hall
- Must have played in the majors (or had a baseball card issued) prior to 1980
- Must be nominated by a current OBC member
- No more than 1 player may be nominated by any individual
To nominate a prospective member, e-mail Grant Rainsley, the HOM commissioner. [PLEASE, OBC MEMBERS ONLY!]
